Spent most of the morning reading the latest installment of Harry Potter (that would be “The Goblet of Fire”, by the way) and then Logan and I spent a couple of hours at the pool before we all headed over to my sister’s to watch fireworks. The big display around here is at Bluebird Park, and Karen’s condo backs right up to the place, so it is the perfect spot to go for the celebration.

Slow day today, and boy did I need it! Caught up on some sleep, some reading and some pool-time w/Logan. (I somehow got wrangled into judging a diving competition amongst several youngsters at the pool as well as being coerced into a swim race with a couple of them. I won, but barely! Boy am I out of shape!)

Spent the day cleaning out the garage and re-organizing everything so that there is a clear path between the van and the garage wall. That way it is much easier to get everyone in and out of the van. Prior to this, we have been stopping the van in the driveway to let everyone in or out, then pulled into the garage. Not very convenient in the rain. It’s much nicer, now.

About halfway through the day, Charlie & Tracey stopped by to pick up the twin bed he had lent to me for Logan to use. We got a chance to visit for a little while before they headed back. It was great to see them both again!

The whole family came over again today, but this time my Uncle Craig (my father’s brother) and Aunt Bettie were in town from Chicago, so they were there as well. They also brought their granddaughter, Alyssa (who must be thirteen, now) who seemed to have a great time with all the cousins. Hopefully, we will be able to take a long weekend later this year and drive up and visit everyone in Chicago.
