Visited Keenan and Ronan at the hospital on my lunch hour. Ronan was fast asleep, but Keenan had just eaten, so I sat and held him for about thirty minutes before I had to go back to work. There is another baby in the NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) that arrived a couple of days after our boys, and he gets to go home tomorrow. I am really ready for the twins to come home. I know that they need to be in the NICU for a while, and that it’s the best place for them, but it just doesn’t feel right without them at home.

Last night I downloaded the demo to Age of Empires II for Logan. He and I transferred across the home lan and installed it on his pc. Wow! It looks like a really cool, historically-based game (in the first campaign, you play William Wallace and try to defeat Longshanks) After going through the start-up screens, the game switches from 800×600 to 1024×768 (the default for the demo) Unfortunately, Logan’s monitor/video card doesn’t seem to support the higher res. We tried quite a few tricks to get it to work (the vidcard is a Diamond Stealth 16meg card, so I’m reasonably sure the card supports the resolution ) The monitor is a rather old 14in VGA monitor. (it was my original monitor that I purchased with my 386DX25 from A-Z -ahhh, the good old days!) So I guess we will try swapping out monitors tonight, although I don’t think we’ll have much time since we need to start moving books and knick-knacks to prepare for the new carpet tomorrow.

Thanks to Tracey for the mention on her webpage and to Amber for the kind words she sent.
